“The Struggle for a Ticket,” or “Pull it Together, Sugar”

a very short play on Friday after work, where a Google search for "F's to Give" returned 0 results.

Scene: M86 Select Bus Service, Westbound at 5th Avenue. A bus driver is giving a potential passenger instructions on purchasing a bus ticket to board.

Bus Driver: (Over the intercom) Ok, you need to press the sliver button. Do you have a ticket? Ok, put the ticket in the machine. (Pause; as the customer is asking a question.)

Is it a touchscreen? Yes, ma'am just like all the machines in the station.

(The passengers on the bus begin to get antsy as the traffic light turns to green.)

Bus Driver: Sugar. I can't wait here for much longer. Ok, Sugar, we're gonna miss the light. You'll just have to catch the next bus. (Closes doors abruptly.)

(The end.
