"A Dubious Pep Talk," or "You're Not Even Ugly,"

a short play set on a Wednesday evening when all the F's to give dried out in the sun.

Scene: An outdoor rooftop of a gay bar in Hell's Kitchen, Manhattan. A woman is at the bar with her gay best friend, who is feigning paying attention while slicking his hair back and trying to get the bartender's attention for another round.

Woman: Dating is just so hard these days. I can't tell if Jacob is interested. I mean, there are days when he'll text me back, and days where he's just...silent.

GBF: (Nodding.) Ugh, I know right? And I mean...forget that guy. You're not even ugly.

(Lights dim.) You're like...not even bad looking.

(The end.)
