"The Parable of Claudia," or "Actually, it's Italian,"

a short play on a Monday when all the F's to give disappeared because it’s 2021.

Scene: Shake Shack, Upper East Side. A woman is finishing up her order with one of the team members.

Team Member: (Swiping credit card) Ok! You're all set, Claudia! Your order is going to appear on the left side of the...

Claudia: Actually, it's Claudia. You pronounced it Clawdia.

TM: Oh, I'm so sorry ma'am. Your food will be ready shortly over there, Claudia.

Claudia: A little better, but no. Say it with me. Claudia. Like "Cloud-ia."

TM: Cloud..ia.

(Another team member chimes in.)

Team Member 2: Oh! That's how we pronounce it in Spanish!

Claudia: (glares)...actually, it's Italian.

(Lights dim.)

TM 2: Ok, Claudia. Your order's going to be over there. Have a lovely day.

The end.
